FIVE DJ AND SALESMAN SAMPLERS
This last group of samplers includes three that were produced for disc jockey distribution. Each had a MM prefix. The liner copy invited radio stations to order the full albums that were sampled at a special discount.
This last sampler probably included a jacket, but the copy obtained by the author came in a sleeve that is also of interest. The sleeve was used to enclose test pressings that were sent to the originating producer for approval. This sleeve originally held a Johnny Lytle test pressing of PJ-10125 and was addressed to Mr. Bock.
These last two samplers were elaborate productions for salesmen in the field who called on retailors or distributors to present the latest releases from Pacific Jazz and World Pacific.
