The Pacific Jazz PJLP 10″ LP series launched the label in late 1952 when PJLP-1 featuring the Gerry Mulligan Quartet with Chet Baker reached retail stores. The cover capturing the four members of the quartet was taken by Dave Pell in one of the practice rooms at Drum City.
Several variations of covers are presented including a mock up (mine) of what the Al Haig cover might have looked like.
